Has Rick and Morty become a Victim of their own Success?

Difference between season 1,2,3

What up my Glib Globs!

I was introduced to Rick and Morty late by my kid brother and immediately I got hooked! I binged watched Season 1 and 2 and was having withdrawals whilst waiting for Season 3 butt……

Now that Season 3 is here and that I have had to sign up to Netflix to watch the new episodes I have been left feeling kind of let down? lost? in a way because there is something seriously different with this Season compared to the last 2

Rick and Morty through Seasons 1 and 2 has had a continuity of stroy lines and characters and S3:E1 started with the same theme but as the Season has progressed I am feeling like that either they are trying to be funny and it not quite working or that the writers simply don’t know where to take the show next?

Episode 1 – The Rickshank Rickdemption

I think the best of the Season so Far, I like how they have kept the shows continuity between the seasons, however i feel that at the end of this Episode it has kind of wrapped everything up from seasons 1 and 2, Rick destroyed both The Intergalactic Government and the Council of Ricks  single handed and managed to get rid of Jerry all in 1 Episode.

Episode 2 – Rickmancing the Stone

I like how this episode featured Summer, I guess trying to bring her into the forefront rather than a reoccurring character and show that she actually is rather funny, but I found this episode kind of dragged?! didn’t really have much plot to it?

Episode 3 – Pickle Rick

I really didn’t get it!?
The teaser for this episode actually got me excited, but what was the point or plot of this Episode?
The family get’s therapy, rick turns himself into a pickle to get out of therapy but ends up going anyway after a random “pointless” journey and well… that’s it?
I kind of thought it was a joke Episode like Interdimensional Cable but not as funny as even that had a side plot between Jerry, Beth and Summer,

Episode 4 – Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender

Started well, I thought we would be back on track, maybe follow on from the aftermath of The Rickshank Rickdemption or at least get an appearance from Tammy and “Phoenix Person” and unless I am mistaken was there ever Vindicators 1 or at-least a mention of it?

Episode 5 – The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy
Now the blurb on this is “Beth fails as a mother; Summer has body issues” which to me doesn’t really sound too appealing or interesting to say the least.

So in my opoinion Rick and Morty has gone “waaaayyyyy” of the rails from the shows original time line and theme from the beloved Seasons 1 and 2, I only hope the Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland can salvage Season 3 and get it back on track to becoming the what we all know as the Best Cartoon of the Century!
